NEARLY DONE

Swimming lessons for Term 1 are nearly over (the last one is tomorrow) and I just had to let you see why I believe my little man has the cutest swim cap ever --- you may not be able to see, but this puppy even has fins! Sometimes when I am driving through town I see kids from the local Catholic school (local as in on our street) trekking to the town pool or the town tennis courts, and I feel so glad that we picked the school we did where Justice has everything available to him on campus. I hope we make it to Year 12 here. And not TOO quickly...

THE GARDEN

Well, I came home from bubba sitting for my friend's little cutie, and what did I see? One of my baby frogs! YEAH! (He's there on the turtle.) Maximus is still in his tree taking it all in!

UPGRADED (or FIRST DAY OF FIRST GRADE)

Well, there just isn't a chance to settle in slowly to school going when your little boy is well on his way to being a little man. Reading books, loving workbooks, helping serve customers and measuring ingredients to make bread have all given Justice an unusually solid base to start his academic career. And on top of that, he's sharp as can be!

Today, Justice started Year 1. Were he to continue at this rate I would save a fortune in school fees, spend a fortune on school books (the last ones lasted a fortnight) and cry myself silly! It felt like such a huge milestone, even if it was just two weeks after the last milestone... Justice has a desk (with a drawer!) and a new teacher ("who is Mrs., not Miss, because she is married") and actual homework (even if it is "easy"). So, First Day of Year One. Also, today he had his first guitar lesson. Big things!

THE WEEKEND

We tried to stop being so incredibly boring and went and bought a cricket set this weekend. We headed straight to the park and played for about five minutes when Will and Justice were both bit by green ants. VERY PAINFUL for our little man! Our delivery driver had a car accident and bailed on us, so I have been getting up at THREE AM to get to work by 3:30 - OUCH! However, today I got to see a great sunrise...

Our nation is both burning and flooded, but we're fortunate in where we are.

FIRST TENNIS LESSON

I know, it doesn't make any rational sense, but our son is sporty. Loves to watch sport- any sport (as in, even bowls!) - even on TV. And he gets them - the rules and the culture - its crazy! Anyway, today the sporty little man started tennis lessons. We'll switch groups to Tuesdays, and have tennis lessons for a half an hour before school starts on Tuesdays. Very exciting!
